Detained Migrant Solidarity Committee

Island to Island Brewery sponsors the Detained Migrant Solidarity Committee financially through the provision of a portion of profits from merchandise and craft beer sales to help provide support for the Fronterizo Fianza Fund. The Detained Migrant Solidarity Committee works to free victims of border detention and reunite aboriginal American families. The Detained Migrant Solidarity Committee visits detained people, document abuses, translate court documents, organize public demonstrations, and much more!

Fronterizo Fianza Fund

The Fronterizo Fianza Fund is a community bond (fianza) fund based in El Paso and serving along the border in Far West Texas and New Mexico. Many detained migrants have no chance to be released while they wait the months or years until their trial. When someone does receive a bond, they are often way out of reach for most families, ranging anywhere from $1500-50,000. The Fianza Fund works with families and detained people to assist them in coming up with the bond amount and going through the long and sometimes confusing processes for winning release.

You Can Help

Every donation helps us grow the fund and get more people free!  Join us by collecting donations at your job, school and social clubs.  Taproom 642 hosts monthly fundraising bashments to raise awareness and donations! These are great ways to both inform your community about the migrant detention system and make a real difference–please contact us if you would like to discuss ways you can get involved!
